Spiking the fashion meter at SCAD Museum of Art

The fashion meter in Savannah, Georgia, is spiking this summer with the opening of an exhibition spotlighting English fashion designer Vivienne Westwood. From May 19 through Sept. 13, 2015, the SCAD Museum of Art will be home to “Dress Up Story, ” which highlights more than 25 designs Westwood created with her husband Andreas Kronthaler.

According to the SCAD Museum exhibition description, “Westwood is known as a maverick, artist and activist, and the exhibition features garments, accessories and fashion show footage that highlight her innovative patternmaking, inherent understanding of fabric and technique. Westwood has a masterful knowledge of color and combines unique fabric patterns and materials with a sharp eye pointed at both fashion and British history.”

The reception, held Thursday, July 9, 5:30-7 p.m.,  is free and open to the public.

The SCAD Museum is located at 601 Turner Blvd. Learn more about the museum hours, admission and parking.
